5 Top Tips on How to Stay Motivated | Goals for 2021

We are now one month into 2021 and a lot of us will have set goals for the New Year. However, if you haven't, it is never too late to start fresh and set new goals. The only struggle we may have throughout the year though is staying excited about the goals we set and knowing how to stick to those healthy habits and routines we want to include into our days. The main thing behind success is having the motivation to get up and take action towards your goals and desires!

In this video I share five ways I have increased my motivation and things to do that will keep you excited about the things you want to achieve this year.
PLAN TOMORROW TODAY
When we plan for the next day, we are setting ourselves up for success. Some things that you can do to plan tomorrow today is:
- write a to do list for yourself of things you would like to get done
- check the weather so you know what you might like to wear
- pick out your outfit for the next day
- if you plan to workout the next day, write down what workout you want to do and pick your workout outfit out ready to pick up tomorrow
- what are you having for lunch? Pack your lunch ready to grab-and-go tomorrow
- what is on the menu for dinner? Can you prep a few ingredients to make tomorrow easier?
- pack your bag for tomorrow
These are some examples of ways you can set yourself up for a successful tomorrow. I find that when I am prepared, I have more time to spend relaxing with loved ones and doing the things I love to do because I am not spending all my time rushing around etc. We have all been there where we make excuses as to why we can't do something or pass the responsibility over to someone else because everything feels too overwhelming. However, if you plan, you will be able to take on your day with more motivation. Seeing things all set for tomorrow will bring you joy and you will wake up with a different mindset that will help you stay motivated throughout the day.
2. SET 3 PRIORITIES EACH WEEK
Look at each week as a fresh start, a new beginning and take a look at your goals. Once you have looked at your goals and what you have going on during that week you can start to make plans. Write down some things you would like to accomplish during that week in a to-do list style. Writing things down can really help you to see what you might want to prioritise this coming week. These three priorities can be anything that is really important to you and might bring you that step closer to your goals. It helps you to focus on one thing so you can give it your attention. This then leads to you feeling motivated because you can see the action steps you are taking towards your goals and to-do lists.
3. CONSISTENCY IS KEY
Consistency is the key to success, it is what is going to keep your motivation levels up. Sometimes this can be the most difficult part because it is so easy not to stay consistent with things and to make excuses for yourself. However, if you take baby steps each day it will keep that momentum going that keeps you excited and motivated towards your goals for 2021, your healthy habits and your daily routines. Show up for yourself and make yourself proud this year! Remember that small things lead to bigger things!
4. KNOW YOUR WHY
This is one of the best ways to stay motivated and is the reason you will get a feeling of motivation towards something because when you have a desire and know why you really want to accomplish something you will be more likely to do it. If you show up for yourself, do what you love to do and know your why, you will be so motivated! It is that feeling, that fire in your belly that makes you want to take action. Doing something just because everyone else is doing something and not having a true reason why you want to do that said thing is just going to decrease your motivation levels. So turn your desire and feelings into action.
5. DISCIPLINE
Going after your goals and sticking to your healthy habits and routines is not always going to feel comfortable but sometimes we need to get out of our comfort zone in order to see growth and accomplish our goals. Action leads to success. Having a little discipline with yourself and making yourself show up and do the things that you love and want to do is going to make you proud of yourself. I am not saying you need to be strict with yourself but I am saying that sometimes (most of the time) you are not going to want to workout, clean, put 100% into your work or even just go to bed early so you can wake up early the next day. This is where discipline is important and is something that will lead to you staying consistent and keeping that momentum going towards your goals. This all leads you to feeling more motivated as over time you will see the results of this action you are taking! We all have a choice so decide what is important to you and prioritise that!
